Welcome to White Canvas Art Co

A Start to Finish Art Studio

We specialize in custom projects, offer art classes, and sell locally crafted artwork

Our Mission

It is our goal to become pillar in our community, a positive place for individuals of all ages to focus time towards enriching activities. It is important to us to promote individual creativity and self expression in a positive direction. We also want to provide a venue for budding artists to display and promote their own artwork as well as offer patrons an outlet to support local artists and find quality handmade items in their own hometown.

Studio or a Gallery?

We prefer the term studio to describe our business. We are not as polished and posh as an art gallery. We are messy and busy. Everyone is welcome (especially children!) We do have a gallery wall and space where we display and sell locally made arts and crafts but we are not a gallery in the traditional sense of the term. You are likely to find paint on the tables as well as the floor and Dustin or Elizabeth working on one project or another. We love working on custom projects for our customers or helping other artists create their own projects. If it has to do with art, we probably can do it here. Just check our Services page to get an idea of some of the things we do in here. As always, we are open to requests and ideas from you. So please, stop in and meet with us.

Welcome to our website

**UPDATE**
We currently are without a physical space to house our studio/business.
However, we are still offering classes and parties to come to you. Elizabeth, our art teacher, is willing to travel and bring all the supplies to your home, business, church, school, rented space, or other location. Dustin is also available for on site photography for events or portraits as well as old time photos with our costumes.

If you or someone you know has a space they are looking to rent out that you think would be a fit for our studio, please let us know. We are looking!

Testimonials

What our customers write about us.

We love our customers and try to create the best experience we can for them. We strive to transform our studio into a fun and welcoming place for the community to gather and focus on creating a positive adventure in art together.

What a fun place! We had my daughter 9th birthday party here and it was SO fun! They provided everything from the plates and cups to a personalized cake and guided painting project! Highly recommend!! We’ll be back for sure!

They have done our daughters birthday party the last two years and do an amazing job. The cakes have been adorable and delicious. We have also enjoyed just showing up to paint. They are very welcoming and great teachers

Awesome place. My family loves to go here , great owners and it’s a really awesome business to have in the community!!

This is a diverse art studio in heart of downtown Sturgis. It is an unassuming place as seen from the street, but as soon as you walk in your imagination runs wild. Elizabeth is the art teacher and her husband Dustin is a creative artist who combines different mediums for some truly unique creations. He is also a camera buff who has a passion for antique cameras as well as photography. Inside is an “old time” photo salon which, combined with Dustin’s digital skills, is fun and produces some truly creative outcomes. This is not your standard county fair photo booth. This unique shop is creativity on steroids. Thank you for your time Dustin and Elizabeth. It was fun meeting you and hearing all your ideas for future projects.

I loved finding this shop in downtown Sturgis! The owners were so welcoming and friendly and the variety of artwork was impressive. I would definitely go there again when visiting SD!
